Satisfying the jones

Ok, I've realized this is an acceptable place to release one's jones monkey in public...so I'm lettin' mine rip here to let out a burly 'yawp' and to encourage others to do the same.

During the last year I went from being in a wheelchair and phys/rehab and not getting out much to...the next two weeks where ALL the work is gonna pay off.

Haven't had near as many kilted adventures as I'm used to or want to, but that's all changing back with a fervor.

This weekend I'm back competing at the games AND next week I leave for that mecca of all things tartan---FRANKLIN NORTH CAROLINA! I'll be hiking, flyfishing and bopping about ALL whilst kilted.

I'm getting my stone-putting-hammer-tossing-caber-turning jones AND my kilting/tartan jones met!!!!!

Ugh--what a year--but what a glorious treat and the end, eh?

OK--feel free to post anything "meeting-the-jones" ya think fits here! Let it rip!

Congratulations! I spent about 4 months feeling like something the cat refused to drag in due to the therapy following cancer surgery. I fringed, purled the fringe and knotted it on a 54" Fly Plaid during that time to keep from going stark staring bonkers (and driving my wife there too). I wish you well and enjoy your trip. The mountains of NC are pleasant this time of the year. Not as spectacular as they will be with the fall foliage though.

Ahhh--yes! The area is amazing later in the fall. I'm HOPING to get down to compete in the Foothills or Waxhaw games.

Carolina--glad to hear you pushed through the chemo--nasty stuff. I was told a few years back that I wasn't going to be around too much laonger...but achh!!! Gotta love proving them wrong, eh?

McFarkus--you have NO idea my friend! HA! I wore a sportkilt to physical therapy and at home would sit im my wheelchair with a 17 lb stone and do presses and curls with it--just so I could 'feel' like I might get back into things.

FEED THE JONES men!!!!!!! Life is short--yer blood will be cold before too long--so live like ya got a pair ;-)

Hmmmm maybe I WILL get that Ulster I was looking at

I'm glad I don't feel like a donkey's rear now for being ready to post about how long Fed-Ex is taking to bring me my stuff

Congratulations on the recovery! Good luck this weekend!

When it gets a bit closer, drop me a PM or E-mail. I always try to make it there, makes a nice end to the season, but as you well know, the best laid plans of mice and men. . . . . Congratulations again on getting out of the wheelchair
