Science in a Sporran - Missing an excuse to go kilted

Pity I am in Dublin this weekend celebrating my brother's birthday otherwise I would be at the Science in a Sporran event at Glasgow Science Centre on the 26th and 27th September
Among the activities you can see kilted Scotsmen demonstrate science in a sporran -can you escape from the Celtic knot handcuffs, do the Highland fling or make your own bagpipe chanter?
You can meet a real haggis< study haggis genetis as well as clan genetics< see the type of spider Bruce met in his cave!
It could be a good kilt day out but I will be forced to swallow a few pints of the black stuff in Dublin
If anyone attends the event this weekend< let me know what i have missed as well as a kilting opportunity

I never had a clue that this was happening and now you've given me something to look forward to at the weekend. I'm broke but I can afford bus fare and £4... it sounds like a perfect day out.

Why wouldn't you go kilted? I can understand not going kilted for some thing but this seems like a perfect fit. One other thought, I've never regretted wearing my kilt, I have regretted not wearing it.

Paul, It is an event celebrating scientific Scottish achievments, its an opportunity to wear your kilt, obviously you do not need any reason to be kilted other than wanting to be so.
There is going to be a distinct Scottish flavour to the event.
As I said earlier I would be at the event but I'm in Dublin with my brothers, I would have probably met up with you, also kilted.

I dont really know... to be honest I've lost faith in young Glaswegians. I'm only 19 myself but whenever I see someone kilted walking around the centre centre of Glasgow on any weekend (which I'll need to do to get the bus) there seems to be a lot of negative reactions. The people are very petty but I hate being singled out. I'm sure I'll be able to ignore it.
I hope there's some more kilted people around the Science centre...
I'm sure you can remember at the piping championships Jimmy - the very very small number of people not in pipe bands who were kilted. I was disappointed about that - and even got asked why I was wearing a kilt if I'm not in a pipe band. I replied "I like wearing my kilt to Scottish-themed events like this" and got a surprised reaction.
