Scooped waist band

Aftger seeing the Wizard's excelent measurement video, and hearing of the "slope", I have a question:
How many of you have a kilt that has a curved or scooped front waistline?
Most of my kilts have straight horizontal waist bands, but one, my favorite for quality, is a second-hand one made by Th Gordon of Glasgow. It has this discretely scooped front and is most comfortable -- and this is not designed to accomodate a beer belly; I have a 29-inch waist.
Do other kilt-makers do this?
Is it the sign of a particularly well-made kilt, top of its class? or a Th Gordon idiosyncracy?

(though I have never visited TG's workshop, I was recently told that he has always worked in the slummiest premises you can imagine. Glasgow is famous for its unsalubrious tenements. When he had the opportunity of moving to a better place, he still preferred to find another hovel. Story told by one of his satisfied customers, surprised at the contrast between this gentleman's beautiful work and his unattractive surroundings.)

As far as I knew I was the only kiltmaker that took slope into account when measuring for a kilt.

Making a Traditional Kilt is much easier without the slope so I assumed that that is the way they were all done.

I approached kiltmaking with an Engineers eye. Until I got a copy of Barb's book I had no idea what a real kilt should look like or how they were made.

One of my pet peeves is the wrinkle just under the waistband that I see in a lot of kilts. So I came up with a way to counteract that and it became my standard way of making a kilt.

Now, when I measure a guy for his kilt I still measure for slope, even on a Traditional Style Kilt, and find even they could use a small amount of slope.

It now sounds like at least one other kiltmaker is using slope. I wonder if that's new?
