    Scottish Santa?

    Red_Raven's daughter brought me a Santa Claus ornament. He's dressed in a kilt, with a balmoral, and carrying bagpipes. The kilt is actually tartan fabric in Stewart Black. I'll post a pic when I have it.

    Cute, we have several Scottish Santa items for the holidays and because of them we have had several visitors to the house ask if store Santas etc, dress up in a kilt in Scotland.

    Oh man, I've been waiting all year to sing this song:

    Santa's A Scotsman

    It's Christmas time in Scotland,
    And my kid said to me
    "Just one question daddy,
    Before I go to sleep
    How will Santa find me?"
    so I said, "Wherever he may roam
    Santa will find you
    because he's coming home."

    Chorus:
    Don't you know Santa's a Scotsman,
    He's loved wherever he goes
    He moved from Glasgow to Lapland,
    Following Rudolf's nose
    Santa's a Scotsman,
    come on make a fuss
    Too many pies,
    not enough exercise,
    of course he's one of us!

    He only works one day a year,
    And then he takes a break;
    He'll have a nip of whisky
    And a bit of Christmas cake;
    He likes a pudding supper,
    And when he arrives tonight
    He'll come in through the window
    'Cos the chimney is too tight.

    Repeat Chorus

    We have a couple of fairly large ceramic Scottish Santas we use as part of the Christmas decorations at our house. We bought both of them last year. We haven't been able to find any this year, but we are still looking.

    I like the song and the video is cute. One question though? Why is this good Glaswegian Santa Claus drinking Kentucky Bourbon?

    Thanks for the YouTube link. I may have to go buy this in iTunes. One of these days I'm going to have to learn how to really use YouTube.

    I'm waiting for the answer to this one, though.

    If Santa's really from Glasgow, then how do any of the elves/reindeer understand a word he says?
