Scotweb
Has anyone here bought from www.scotweb.co.uk ?
I'm really thinking of buying a whole outfit from them but I wanted to check first if anyone here has bought something from them ?
It looks all very nice and I think that this is the one I've been looking for.

Scotweb was the featured sponsor in June and the owner, Nick regularly posts on this forum. There is a discussion thread for Scotweb at http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...117/index.html

Don't think you'll be disappointed.

G'day mate,
I have bought a few things from them and have found their service to be outstanding! They answer emails and curious questions quickly (despite the obvious time difference) and supply wonderful quality *authentic* Scottish kit at a great price.
Ordering clothes - particularly a kilt - online can be a nervy experience... however you can buy with confidence from Scotweb and know they're kilts (made by Balmoral) are top quality. Just make sure you do your best to have a trustworthy friend measure you up. Scotweb have great instructions on their site to help.
Can't wait to see some pics of your kit when it arrives!
Scotty
Before you judge someone be sure to walk a mile in their kilt.
That way you are at least a mile away and you have their kilt...

Gunnar,
I bought an Argyle outfit from Scotweb last year. I was very please with customer service from the first day to the delivery and quality of the items. Be sure to set some funds aside for US Customs charges, as Scotweb has no control over that. Good luck, I hope you are as pleased as I have been. I look forward to seeing some pictures.

I recently got an eight yard (it was actually 10yds.) hand and machine sewn, kilt from them. I found their service and their responsiveness simply outstanding. As the last poster said, buying a kilt online can really be a nerve wracking experience especially for a first time buyer (as I was). They literally held my hand and soothed away all my worries.
I did submit a 36" measurement taken around my navel and the kilt came in exactly that...only on the last hole in the straps. So in retrospect I wish I had talked to them to ensure that the 36" was measured from the middle hole.
And I did get a bill from FedEx about a week and a half later that came to $77.00 for customs and customs brokering--this was on top of the $40+ I spent on express shipping.
But overall I would give them an A- and order again in a heartbeat.
I might add this information: I had the kilt pleated especially to my own desire (to the stripe...which is why the kilt was 10 yards) and they got it to me within four weeks, I think it was. Very fast, in any case. I ordered a Scotland's National in a 16 ounce Jura worsted and even with the customs charges, everything...total...was under $500.00.
Most importantly, they never missed a beat responding to my emails or toll free telephone calls.
You can't beat that with a stick.

Have no fear, Scotweb is here. If you can't find it there you probably don't need it really. Great product, even better service. And not to be repetitive but don't forget to use the discount you get by clicking on their advert upper right this page----well worth the effort, but doesn't combine with any other offers or special sales.

Hurray for Scot-web!!! ...I have just realised that X Marks has it's very own Scot-Web member, Nick.
Oh boy Nick, am i going to have your heart well and truly broken over the next while?
I have been in contact with Sot-Web about having certain tartans woven in 1/6th scale, and i must say, your staff are first class, they really make you feel that they WANT to help you, (unlike others i might add)
I am awaiting a reply from Judy, with some measurements of military tartans in miniature, and i just get the feeling that i will get what i have been searching for for years,..years i tell you!!!!
But it is great to know that Nick is a member, and is on hand to sort out any queries that members may have.
Rock on Scot-Web, a great bunch of people.
Neil.
Due to recent Government cut-backs,...the light at the end of the tunnel will be switched off until further notice.

I have purchased quite a few items from ScotWeb in recent years, including four fine kilts. I also know Nick and Adele and can vouch for the integrity of them and their staff. ScotWeb will not sell you rubbish or tartan tat; they will sell you quality goods (with a discount if you order through their link at the top right of this page).
Take care,
Ham.
