Hello fellows,
I'm searching for about 9-10 yards of weathered tartan fabric in 48-60 inch width and I can't find much. I figured with all the knowledge base here maybe someone could point me in a direction I hadn't noticed. My price range is about $30/yard. I'm not dead set on wool and I'm not searching for anything specifically as far as clan tartans are concerned. Let me know if you have seen anything that fits the bill. Thanks!

The best choice of weathered tartans is available from Lochcarron in Scotland. However, this is well above the retail price range you quote and is 100% pure wool

There may be cheaper weathered options around but they will probably be few and far between

If you go to the website listed in this referenced thread and then click the "View All Fabrics" button then choose "Plaid Fabric" it brings up nearly 500 fabrics in various fashion plaids and various weights and fiber content, including some "coating" and "outerwear" weighted all wool or nearly all wool make up that should suit your needs. Actually strolling through the list I picked up several I think I would like to use to make a nice shepherd's plaid out of. Great website. Reasonable prices.

I just ordered 14 yards of this little ditty. It isn't weathered but it isn't neon either.. has my wife and my favorite colors in it so bonus! 80% wool 20% polyester
