Selling a Utilikilt -- fair price?

I'm selling my Utilikilt Original to a guy at church . . . I've only worn it 2-3 times, and I think since he's been talking about getting one off and on for some time, he'll wear it . . . so hopefully, it's going to a happy home and will extend the legion of the kilted.

Question is . . . what's a fair price? He noted that Utilikilt recently went up from $75 or $80 to $130 for the Originals . . . I've had this one since 2002 or 2003, and I don't remember what I paid for it.

    Suggestions?

Taking in all that you said - $45.00 should make you both feel OK about the sale!

Don't forget the "No jonesing" fee, and the "No shipping" fee, and the "I got what you want sucker" fee, and the "Already broken in" fee, and the "historic garment" fee, and the "Years of free storage for you" fee...

Seems like an easy $200 to $250

Hmm. I thought the UK Originals were about $110 in 2002/3. I would think $50-60 would be at least a good starting point. Maybe you could tell him that price includes one or two of Riverkilt's "fees."

Well I paid $110 for my first UK in 2001, and that doesn't include the shipping (usually about 13 from them). They typically for for about $100 used on E-bay. However, it is someone you know, so I think about $75 is more than fair.

I think you should just have him buy you a SWK Standard of your choice for trade. SWK standards go for around $80 and that way you won't be losing a kilt. He'll be getting the UK that he wants and you'll be replacing a kilt with a kilt.

Shipping to Arizona from SWK for me was about 9 dollars I think. If you think it's fair that you pay for the shipping then cool. If you want to add that into the trade then cool too.
