If my math is right its 230 years for the USMC tomorrow - maybe even today where you are.

Plan to wear an olive drab hooded sweat with the EGA on the chest with my camo UK original, oatmeal kilt hose with olive drab flashes tomorrow in honor of this most sacred birthday/aniversary/holiday.

    Happy Birthday Fellow Devil Dogs!

10 November, What a great day!

Unless I'm mistaken, Ron is probably the oldest Marine in attendance

    Who claims the youngest billet?

    Happy birthday to you
    Happy birthday to dear USMC
    Happy birthday to you

Of course it doesn't have the same ring as 'Spirit Journey Formation Anniversary' but it works.

When I get a chance I need to photoshop either frylock or meatwad into a kilt

(Sorry my inner geek is coming out if your wondering what the heck I rambling about do a search of Aqua Teen Hunger Force)

    And St. David!

    "...And St. David!"

During the Boxer Uprising (1900), at Tientsin and Peking, the Marine Battalion in the international relief column was Brigaded with the Royal Welch Fusiliers (23d Foot), one of Britain's most renowned Regiments. The resulting fellowship between the two organizations is symbolized each year on St. David's Day (1 March, the Welsh national holiday), when the Commandant of the Marine Corps and the Colonel of the Fusiliers exchange by dispatch the traditional watchword of Wales: "...And St. David."

The Greeting is also exchanged on the Marine Corps Birthday.

btw, the Marines's birthplace, Tun Tavern in Philadelpia, was also the home of the St. Andrew's Society of Philadelphia, first founded in 1747.

    Cheers,

    Todd
