So I Have a Wee Tiny Bit of Money Left In the Budget.

And I am seriously thinking about getting a Stillwater Standard kilt for the fall. I know I should be saving up for a PK and all the other kilts I want, but only having one kilt to wear is tough when that's all you wear. My SWHW is nice, but to hot for the summer. Not sure how it might fit come winter. Ugh.

Problem is, I dunno what tartan I want. I don't like either Stuart... I already have Black Watch... So it's a toss up between Irish National and the Night Stalker tartan.

I could really go for a solid black and I see one listed on the front page at a reduced price... But I am not sure if it will fit me and I am not sure if he still has it. I do so terribly dislike disapointment. It's a 46... The current size of my SWHW, which is starting to be a little to big for me.

So out of the two, which should I get if I get one? Irish National or the Night Stalker?

Personally I'm a big fan of Irish National. It's really quite a beautiful tartan, and I think that perhaps the meaning of the tartan is applicable; allow me to explain: You've posted frequently over the past few months about your attempts to change your life for the better; In a sense to free yourself from the restrictions of your circumstances. The Irish people have stuggled for hundreds of years to free themselves from what most would consider trying circumstances. Perhaps wearing the Irish National tartan could symbolize your personal struggle for freedom. Dread, I hope I haven't overstepped my bounds here...It just seemed apropos when I read your post. Cheers, my friend!

Overstepping your bounds? How? By being honest?

I do like that tartan, for how it looks and what it means. That puts it in to a new light. Thank you.

    Hey neighbor,

I've actually got one in the Night Stalker tartan on the way right now. (That's right, I'm Jonesin'!) But the Irish National is a great looking tartan, I don't think you could go wrong with either! Let us know which way you decide.

I've got both of them from Stillwater and they are both nice. Do note that the Irish National from SW has a brighter green than from most other places. It's still nice looking, but will DEFINITELY draw attention. There was a thread on here someplace that had a picture of the SW Irish National laid alongside another kilt of the same tartan, and you could really tell the difference.
