So I'm sitting at my desk at work....

    ......KILTED!!!

Pretty damn cool, if I do say so. Got the OK from the "higherups" so-to-speak (even though I am one of the higher-ups myself....) so I'm planning to come in kilted once-in-a-while for casual fridays. My staff love it (this is actually the second day I've done it...). My patients are EXTREMELY confused as to what to think. Largely a low-income, minority population, though. Unlikely many have had ANY exposure to kilts in any way.

In case anyone's wondering..."British racing green" shirt (for lack of a better description), weathered Ulster box-pleat kilt from Barb Tewksbury, WPG khaki hose and khaki/sage ties from Celtic Warrior Kilts. Brown belt and waterhorse sporran from Donnie.

    WOO-HOO!!

I'm starting to make Fridays kilt-days.

Though this is not entirely intentional...

I think it's wierd (but good wierd) that in a company of several thousand - and in a building of more than six hundred - not only is my kilting encouraged, but several colleagues and managers above me all love it.

By contrast, in a previous place of employment, the headcount was something like 120, and I was asked by HR (who was a good friend at the time) not to wear it again. Then again, that previous company had a lot of programmers of certain ethnicities who would be more likely to be confused rather than amused by a kilt.
