    Source for Tartan Pictures

I'm a highland dancer and a sewer. I've made a couple of kilts on my own and really enjoyed it. I've lurked here for sometime, posted a few things and now I'd like to share a little bit of information that a member of the highland dance community put together.

While most of the tartans shown in the thread are dress tartans, someone here might find it useful.

(I saw that 3yr old pink tartan wedding post and it made me think of this ddn sticky)

    Thanks Dixiecat,

You're gonna extend my wish list for sure with that link.

Dress Nova Scotia....Dress Blue Earl of Skye....some of the links are gone but just the names tempt me.

I do already have a dress Gordon semi-trad on order from Rocky....and McMurdo's dress Macdonald keeps tempting me....

I apologise for out-of-date links. That's the problem with that sticky. It needs to be maintained a lot more frequently than it is. I think it's on it's 3rd renewal. The dancers find it useful to see actual photos of the tartans made up. Swatches are great, but don't capture the entire 'look'.

I have to say that I also covet Dress Blue Earl of Skye. And I may have gone for it, but for the fact that I had to make the kilt and I didn't want to start with a tartan with a lot of elements. My first kilt was a Black Erskine. Second (and current) kilt is Dress Eildon. My third.......?
