Southern Rabble - A Chance to Meet Kathy Lare

Mods: wasn't sure whether to post this here, on kiltmakers, or games. Since she's not working, thought here. Please adjust if necessary.

Kathy Lare of Kathy's Kilts has been invited to join the Scottish Tartans Authority board and the Tartan Eduation and Cultural Association at the TECA tent at the Stone Mountain Highland Games Oct 19-21.

She is not there working, or as a vendor, but know she has clients in the southern U.S. and folks might wanna stop by and say hello.

She will be there with Dr. Phil Smith author of Tartan for Me...AND designer of the Arizona State tartan...though don't suppose folks in Dixie care much...but we was at one time a territory of the old Confederacy.

Just pointing it out since otherwise no one would probably know Kathy will be at the games. And, if you're new and don't know Kathy www.kathyskilts.com

If I done wrong, invoke the penalty.

Good News! I'll be sure to look her up. I plan to be there most of three days, including camping.

Very cool, I wish I was closer, would love to meet someone with her obvious talent.

Same here McMurdo - one drawback to living at the far end of the dusty road is isolation. It would be so nice to visit with some talented professional kiltmakers.

Well, just dang and other epitaphs!!! I met Kathy at her home in Albuquerque this summer as my nephew got married (kilted, by Kathy, of course). Unfortunately, I am going to miss the SMHG this year because of my little side trip and will not be back in the states until Feb. Arrrgh. For you that belong to S.E.K.S, do take the time and go meet Kathy. She is a very nice lady!

Very nice, I'll have to try to meet her. I'll be down there all weekend manning the museum tent, as always, so I'll doubtlessly be busy.

Good that TECA can get her to come help, I know they often times have a hard time finding people to man their booth at the Games.

    MAN!!!

I was hoping to "hit" the Stone Mountain games this year. My parents only live 5 miles (as a crow flies) from the games sit, though it takes 15-20 minutes to actually GET there, as there is NO direct route.
However, we will be in Virginia for my wife's best friend's wedding. Anna is a bride's maid there. I plan to be kilted (unless Karen, the bride, REALLY objects).

I think Charleston, Hartwell, and Hendersonville will "compensate" for missing Stone Mountain. But, Kathy won't be there (sad).
