    Sporran Dilema

    Learned Chaps and Chappesses

Working my way through all things good and bad I am now in the market for a quality daywear leather sporran. I particularly find myself drawn to the Rob Roy/Jacobite style. I have looked at Freedom Sporrans and Wyvern Leatherworks but has anyone got any suggestions (polite only) as to where else I can have a look. Christmas is fast approaching and the OH is looking for suggestions so any advice or recommendations would be much appreciated.

    many thanks and kind regards

A bit more local, perhaps too traditional for you, but the quality is second to none. Try McRostie of Glasgow.

Simon - if you are looking for a very unique daywear leather sporran, let me recommend Sky Raven Wolf. In addition to the special sporrans found on the website, Chris also does custom sporrans; very beautiful work!

    I can recommend http://www.leathersporran.co.uk/

Page 3 of the daywear sporrans show some Rob Roy styles and I believe he will make custom sporrans too if you don't see what you want

I have one in-process right now. It is like the white TCS 47 on the site, but in black buffalo and with black beads instead.

I'll second the McRostie for a more traditional sporran. In regards to the Rob Roy style, I've also got a Thorfinn and would recommend Turpin's work to anyone. I'll also throw Artificer's (on this forum) name into the hat as well, though I haven't seen him knock out a Rob Roy style in some time. You can't go wrong with any of the above.
