Spreading the love - Jakes of London

Inspired by the post about J.Higgins - and being Christmas seems right to spread the love...

I wanted to say how much I loved the service from Jakes of London - I did the kilt hire for the wedding in September from then, then went onto buy a lovely green/grey (think it's called Sea Mist) tweed Argyll jacket from them. Always lovely, and was fast and flexible, even delivering to the Hotel and organising all of that. Certainly if you're looking for hire in London or UK I'd recommend them, especially if you need a specific tartan.

I love the fact they noticed the dimensions I gave were a little wrong, and knew that the kilt length I had specified for my partner was too short (he can't exactly kneel that well, hard to measure that on him), and queried that...and I love my jacket (yes I went for the special sleeves - I forget what they're called? Scalloped?).

And no, they're not paying me for this!

The sleeves on an Argyll jacket are typically described as being "gauntlet" sleeves, and are matched with a similar detail to the pocket flaps.

Good to hear of another episode of good service from a retailer. Next time I am in London I shall have to look them up (too bad I was just there 6 months ago).
