I kind of like the softer feel of the fabric in some ways, but don't tell anyone.
I used to worry about the kilts being acrylic as well. However, I have noticed that my SWK acrylics do not wrinkle anymore than my 5yd, 16oz worsted wool. In fact, last year I rode in the car for 12 hours on a trip from Missouri to Ohio wearing my Hunting McCleod standard. I had very little wrinkling in the pleats (I checked in a full length mirror at my mom's house in Ohio). You get a bit of pilling after a few washings, but a sweater shaver every now and then takes care of it.

Keith, Congrats on the new kilt. Jerry is a great guy, and cares that his customers are happy with his products.

I haven't had any wrinkiling problems with mine either... I mean I wear acrylic sweaters and shirts and so on, so it's not that big of an issue.
As far as washing, I wash mine by hand almost like a wool kilt, but with a lot less soap. I guess if it gets some fuz though, I could get the sweater shaver. They air dry a lot quicker than wool too .
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…
