| | | Strangest question I've ever had...
I'm walking out of church last weekend. Black-handled "sgian brew" in my sock. An older gentleman to my surprise asks "Well, are you going to play us a tune?" I assume that he's asking a variation on the bagpipe question, so I reply that my son is the piper. "No" he says..."Why don't you play your flute?" Now I'm thinking that this guy is being remarkably crude...until he points to my right sock. "You mean this?" I say, pulling my sgian brew. "Oh, I thought all scots carried a flute in their sock." Yeah...he was seriously under the impression that all the sgians he's seen in his life were small flutes.
Wow.

Sgian flute! That's great! I've seen drumsticks, tobacco pipes, pens, pencils, highland games programmes, and cigars stuck in kilt hose, but a flute - not yet.
