    Tartan measurements?

Whilst looking for a tartan for my first kilt I came across a company measuring it at 403glm, I wasn't sure what this meant and can't seem to find it with google. Does anyone on here know?

I believe it stands for grams per linear metre as opposed to oz per yard.

My guess is grams per linear meter.

Thanks, I'd only seen them measured in Oz and in gsm before and thought it would be best to check before buying anything.

That is strange that they would measure the fabric in such a non-standard way.

Maybe a European weaver or a UK weaver trying to sell into Europe.

403 Grams per linear Meter = 12.998 ounces per linear Yard.

If this is double width fabric (54"-60") then you are buying 13oz. fabric.
