    Tartan Museum

I went on a business meeting in North Carolina last week and to my surprise it was only a couple of miles from the Scottish Tartan Museum. I went to check out the museum and, although the sign said "Open" the doors were locked up tight. I waited around an hour or so and no one came back to unlock the doors so I had to settle for a photo next to the sign. Fortunately I'll be spending a week there next month so I can come back and visit when the doors are open. Hopefully.

Sorry no one was there, Baldwin! What day were you in town, and what time?

Was on Wednesday the 4th. The time was afternoon maybe around 2PM or so. I enjoyed seeing the window displays and I'm looking forward to returning next month for an inside tour.

I love your blog, Baldwin. Bummer about the museum.

Get back ASAP and tour the Museum, check out the Gift Shop, and chat with anybody who is on "duty." You will enjoy all 3, guaranteed.

    Re: Tartan Museum

Hmmm... Wednesday the 4th was a normal business day, so someone should have been there.

One of the downsides of operating a small-budget non profit like ours is that we only have one paid employee to open the place. Many days we have volunteers there to help out, but if we don't on a particular day, you may find the museum closed for a bit if the staff person has to run out for any reason (pick up a print job, meet with our accountant, or maybe do an emergency run to the store because we ran out of TP)!

Anyway, sorry you missed us, hope you can make it back soon!
