    Thanks

I would like to thank all of those folks who saw me changing into my kilt at the rest stop in Albany Oregon for honking and cheering today!

    Thanks!

There's got to be a story here!

Can I recommend changing clothes in the bedroom or bathroom at home? Usually there is more privacy and the mirror is clean.

    You are right of course.

I was conducting my change with all modesty and public edification in mind, I think thats why they were cheering.

    Ok ok ok!

I was on my way to an event that was a 3 -1/2 hr drive one way for me - so I had comfort in mind.

I put on my shoes but had my kilt hose rolled down. I wore shorts and then my polo shirt and vest on.

So I get to the rest area about 20 min from where I am going get out and begin changing.

When I was fully kilted, belted, sporraned, and ready to go is when I reached under the kilt and without exposing myself, pulled the shorts off....

That's when the cheers and clapping started.

Whether it was because of my skill in changing, the kilt, or just because I didn't inflict the sight of a half naked sumo sized guy on the public is still a matter of speculation.

So I thru a wave and headed off!

It's alway appropriote to cheer and clap at moments like that. Like when the rabbit is pulled out of the hat!

    Cheers! Bill

    OH NO!

Its easier to drive in the kilt for that long of a period. At least for me its very comfortable . I was at a game yesterday its about 4 hours away from me, drove there kilted and drove home kilted.

I stopped at a comfrot station, and was coming around a corner near the coffee stand and another kilter was there. He said I am glad to see I am not the only one still kilted. He was a drummer with the pipe band. I should have told him about Xmarks, but forgot.

    Comfort?

Great story! I'm sure you turned more than a few heads.
I have to agree w/ Mexpiper, the only way to go on road trips is in a kilt. Far greater comfort.

I have to disagree. I know is against popular opinion in this forum, buy I have never been able to get the pleats straight when getting into a car. And the more I try to straighten, the worse it gets! I end up feeling like I’m sitting on a big ball of cloth. Drives me nuts! (Pun intended) I’d hate to see how the pleats look after a long hot drive.

I do think it's fairly comfortable to drive while kilted, but I will definitetly agree about the pleats. Mine usually look terrible after a car trip, no matter what I do to keep them straight. The only way I have had any success has been to wrap a towel around myself and hold it tight while I sit down.
