    There's a woman whose name I wish I could remember - she takes a 18" or so bear, and gives it a shirt, black bow tie, black PC, sporran, and pleated kilt in your choice of tartan. I've seen her at some of the Ontario games (she's Canadian), and bought a bear for my mother from her in Edinboro, PA.
    I am easily moved for sympathy for dogs, far more so than for humans, because dogs do not understand. There is no way to explain that you will return, that the vet will make it all better, that they cannot go shooting today because that is not what today is about. They cannot work out that their misery is finite and will some time end, and so their misery is magnified.

    That is a great gift. I have thought the same for my own daughter- probably the closest she will let me get to giving her a tartan something.
