I've got a ton of errands to run today, along with a 12:30 church choir rehearsal for our annual Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols tomorrow night. I had planned on wearing my SWK thrifty Black Watch today, regardless of temperature, and I thought I'd go to weather.com to see what the temperature was.

The good news: the temperature in a pleasantly unseasonable 54.

The bad news: the wind is blowing at 18 MPH, gusting to 43.

I plan to walk with my head held high, hands held low.

Good time for a wool tank. Or one of those MoD kilts in 22 oz.

Well....... out here it is -27c and with the wind chill we are at -41c!

So, going our with any skin exposed is a little daring out here.

Good for you about keeping your head held high on a blustery day.

Hereabouts there was a wild wind and plenty of rain as I set out this morning. I chose to wear one of my lighter weight PV casuals (Blue Ramsay) which was certainly exciting in the wind. I chose this rather than a tank because I was walking through the rain to a meeting where I'd be sitting for a couple of hours and I've noticed before that the PV ones dry off much faster than the wool ones do.

I was surprised how comfortable this turned out to be. Not at all cold either.

When I get home I have told myself I'm going to wear my tank though snow, sleat or rain for Christmas. It's 90 F and sunny where I am now, but I know in the Pacific Northwest I'll have a dramatic change and reality check. I know its not as bad as some places that get that Arctic Express coming down through Canada; but it can still get a wee bit nippy. You guys are great and have inspired me to follow in your foot steps.
