    Tremendous Loss

MSG Malcolm Jones, an active member of the Gordon and Wallace Clans, outstanding Soldier and veteran of two wars (Vietnam, Iraq), and more importantly, my friend, lost his 20 year old son today. His son Tyson, who accompanied us to Grandfather Mountain Highland Games two weeks ago, died in his sleep some time this morning. Tyson had been battling diabetes most of his life, and more recently, had brain surgury to remove a benign tumor. MSG Jones left for work this morning after Tyson told him that he felt tired and he was going to rest. When he checked on his son after lunch, he was already gone. Tyson, like his father, loved two things. His country and his Scottish heritage. While neither were Xmarks members, we would often discuss information I had learned here on this forum. And I honor Tyson and his father by telling you of the tremendous loss within the Celtic and Kilted community. MSG Jones asks that you drink a "wee dram" in Tyson's honor, and I ask that you remember both of them in your prayers.

Give your friend a big hug and when the time is right tell him your favorite story about his son. Remember the life he lived rather than mourn his passing.

I will toast all of you tonight.
    Peace

DA, I know the loss that MSG Jones is going through. I too lost a son three years ago. Be there when your friend needs to talk or a shoulder to cry on. It will be hard at first, but life will go on.

I will offer up a prayer for your friend and his family.

To MSgt Jones and his young son, Tyson. It is with my sympathies that I opened my most prized bottle of Single Malt Irish Whisky and raised my glass in honor of his son. He was taken far too young. Please pass on to him the sympathies and prayers of the Driscoll clan.
