Two new patterns added to Ettrick Tweed line

Hey folks! We are happy to announce that we are now offering two brand new patterns of Etrrick tweed from Lochcarron of Scotland to our line. In addition to the four standard shades of tweed that had been available in this line (lovat green, lovat blue, lovat grey, and charcoal), we can now offer the following:

    HUNTER

    POACHER

More details on the web site:
    http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/tweed.html

These can be had as jackets, vests, kilts, and by the yard. Just contact the museum or order on line if interested.

    Aye,

Those look very nice. I was just thinking about getting a jacket in a windowpane style, like in Thomas Innes book. I'll be keeping this in mind for the future. Your site says that the jackets are made in Scotland. Who are the tailors?

Well, we actuall have a few companies in Scotland that provide us with jackets, depending on the type/style of jacket. In this case, the Ettrick tweed is Lochcarron's line, and we would have them make the jacket.

Those are lovely tweeds! I am vary partial to the poacher, I quite like the subtle vertical yellow stripe. I would love a kilt in that.

Kilts are available, as well as jackets & vests. Kilts would be priced the same as any of our medium weight kilts:

I think either of those would look lovely as a jacket. But I'm planning on a charcoal first. Something else for the wish list, I guess.
