    Two years kilted full time

August 5th marked two years that I have worn kilts as my daily attire. The only exception to this is when I ride my maxi-scooter, a 650cc Suzuki Burgman. I'm a firm believer in ATGATT (all the gear all the time), because the highway will rip your skin off whether you ride a 50cc moped or a 2000cc cruiser.

I started wearing kilts because of my medical disabilities. Damage to my autonomic nervous system prevented normal sweating, and I needed the extra ventilation on warm/hot days. Of course I found them so comfortable I purchased wool kilts for the cool/cold weather so I could wear them daily all year round. Thanks to all the great folks hear I learned a great deal about kilts and Celtic history. Traced my roots back to Scotland (John Kennedy Sr, my great, great, great, great, great grandfather - born in Scotland in 1731) Not that being Scottish or having Scottish ancestors is a requirement.

Over these two years of kilt wearing I've met many people, and had many great conversations that otherwise would not have taken place if I had not been wearing a kilt. Our local newspaper did a feature article about me as a full-time kilt wearer a little over a year ago, and I still run into people who remember me from the article.

So here's to the kilt, to XMarks, and the kilted rabble. You have enriched my life more than I can possibly express in words.

That is wonderful news congratulations on passing the two year mark.

    A great achievement!

Naturally there are time when other considerations (such as two wheeled powered transport) and in my case choir concerts also, come into play but we don't count them as breaking up the record!

Well done, full time kilting is fun...and there must always be some exceptions, just to keep us fully appreciative of the joy of the kilt.
I have four years coming up.

Isn't it great to have all that room in the closet?
