    An Unexpected Kilt for Christmas

Yes, folks, I was fortunate enough to have been sent a brand new kilt in time for Christmas - and it came as a total surprise!

It was despatched from the USA and I have to confess that the Customs Declaration form gave me no indication of the sender's name - it showed a name that I did not immediately recognise, but all was revealed when I read the kind letter enclosed with the kilt.

I carefully tore at the brown paper wrapping, inside which was a taped cardboard box and masses of protective packaging - this new kilt was certainly very well packed in order to survive the rigours of international postal services.

When I finally reached the contents, I yelled with delight - and loud laughter for this is what I had been sent:

This splendid 'Wee Hamish', whilst not correct to the 'tiniest detail' (!!!), is so beautifully crafted and dressed. The green base, I was informed, (pretty accurately) represents my sporting estate at Lochaber!

And who made 'Wee Hamish'? Why, Jamie (Panache) of course [how many of you know his surname?!!]. And who dressed me/him? Star (the F-H.C.A.G) was responsible for the cute kilt with its fine pleating.

'Wee Hamish' has pride of place on my mantlepiece, along with several other kilted figures - but none as personal as this.

Who would not be thrilled, I certainly was, by Jamie and Star's kind thought and, if I know anything about it, time they spent on their generous gift.

I just HAD to share this with you all.

    Take care,
    Ham.

That is sweet! Well done Jamie and FHCAG!

That certainly is a piece to treasure.
