    Vancouver Kilt Shop?

    Hi All,

I'm headed to Vancouver BC next weekend, and am trying to find any kilt shops of good quality there. I'm looking for a Prince Charlie jacket and Vest, and a dress Sporran. I've looked at several online shops, but really feel the need to try on the jacket and vest, and feel the quality before buying. I know there used to be an Edinburgh Tartan Shop in Vancouver, but believe it closed several years ago. Is anyone from Vancouver, or know some quality shops there?

    Thanks.

    -Pete

edit: I need to read more carefully.
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

There is also the House of MacLaren in Gastown in downtown Vancouver.

Tartantown is your best bet for in stock merchandise.

There is also McIntosh Highland Supplies (no relation!) in Delta. It might be wise to phone first.

    Great!

Thanks for all of your suggestions. I had googled "kilt shop vancouver" but on ly got the one in Gas Town. I knew there were others in the outlying areas, but was at a loss to find them.

Peel, I don't know if you got my PM so I'll post here as well. I know where all those shops are and two of them are fairly close to where I live. If you would like a "guide" when you arrive, send me a PM and I'll give you my particulars. There's also a great pub here, my local.

Thanks Mike. I'm still trying to work out the particulars of when I head north, but will keep your offer in mind, and let you know when I have a better sense of when I'm driving up.
