vendor that specializes in tartan skirts

    mariasdeals@hotmail.com

maria's deals is the ebay vendor that Ackwell bought that gray stewart skirt from, and had shipped to Finland. I noticed that there was an identical grey stewart tartan skirt still listed on ebay, so I contacted the vendor at the above e-mail address to ask if maybe she had two more, so I could buy the skirts for the fabric in 'em..

We've written back and forth a bit. Her name is Maria Van and she's in Toronto..

    AND.............

get this....she says she has over a hundred tartan skirts in her stock, in various sizes and tartans.

Shay, Sherry...you OWE me bigtime for this. LOLOL Not to mention every one of you guys who've been dying to get your lass into a tartan skirt without breaking the bank.

Well, Alan, my wife has steadfastly resisted just about all my attempts to get her anything plaid....that stinks, doesn't it.

But the other day my daughter (the kilted one) and I were at a "Steve and Barry's" at the mall. If you don't have one, this is a place where everything is $7.95. Jeans: $7.95. T-shirts with clever double entendre logos: $7.95. Really neat hooded sweatshirts with a big maple leaf and "Canada" written on them: $7.95. You get the idea...everything in this joint has just GOT to be made in China and, as the theory goes, after they sell the first two of anything, the rest is profit.

Guess what? Mini-kilt skirts in Royal Stewart: $7.95! ...and in women's sizes for a change! How can anyone resist such a bargain? Granted, it would probably not survive a turn in the washing machine (I actually have a jacket from this place that has a permanent care tag that says Do not dry clean, do not machine wash...gues you just toss it when it gets dirty) but I felt that it might serve as an introductory kilt-like thing.

She hasn't worn it yet...perhaps this coming quiet Saturday evening at home should be a "two bottles of wine" Saturday evening and I can entice her into throwing it on for our weekly Monarch of the Glen viewing.

So your discovery just could be a godsend for the next kilt-item for my wife. Good find!

    Best

AA, so your saying that the getting her drunk trick can still work even after xx years of marriage? Never thought to try myself, but Valentine's day is coming up...:-D

AA, I find that my DW is a sucker for a martini. She'll be wearing her new "mini-kilt" in the NYC commemorative tartan this Saturday at our little Robbie Burns Supper, and I can hardly wait!

I got this for my wife and she said she would never wear a plaid.

She wore it to her neices wedding last weekend and she will be wearing it to the burns dinner on Sat.
