Very proud day for me and clan Brown

Man....What a day. Today, the mail contained an official letter from the baron and lord of Clan Brown. Some months ago, I asked Matt to help me design an alternative tartan to the only one available for Clan Brown (Of which I wasn't found of). I had initially wanted to create a hunting sett, but found out someone else was exploring that. I decided to rename it "Brown(s) of the SouthEast US" in honor of the multitudes that inhabit this region-including my roots. I went through STA to register it, but as an official clan sett , the chief would need to approve. My initial contact to his personal assistant didn't seem positive on the idea. I understood his point that tartans were unique and shouldm't be watered down with whim and fancy. I still held out hope and had my request forwarded. The chief (A really fantastic guy btw) listened to my reasoning and idea and thats were it stayed. I had almost forgotten about it until today when i received this package. It contained his own personal clan parchment granting full blessing and approval to the addition of this tartan as a recognized sub-sett to the Clan Brown tartan open to all Browns across the world. Very cool, huh?

    That is very cool.

I would like to see a pic of the tartan you designed.

Hey, Piper, that is a really beautiful tartan! and you look great in the pics.

But....shouldn't the tartan be more....well, brown?

My girlfriend's mom's side are Browns... So I was going to get her a Lamont or Flower of Scotland since she didn't like the other Brown tartan.
