Visited the Tartan Museum
Well the gift shop at least. I walked in after a rather lengthy drive through the Smokey Mountains - I suggest finding a different route, BTW - and sawa bearded gentleman at the counter. He was with a customer, so I started to look around. After he was finished, I asked if he was Matt and introduced myself. He asked if I wanted to see the museum, but I declined as I intend to visit it with my girlfriend and she'd kill me if I went without her. The shop is awesome. I picked up a black leather sporran and a cool sgian dubh with the Saltire on it. So, I've finally met a fellow X-Marker, well, with the exception of Heath, but that's from the Triumph world. Found out the museum is only 80 miles from my girl's parents', which is great. Next time we might just have to take the Bonneville up - the Smokeys are much more fun on two wheels than four. Now I just have to figure out how to get her measurements without telling her what it's for - that's going to be difficult.

To acquire a new sporran and sgian-dhu AND meet another x-marker - now that is a halcyon day.

The Museum is definitely one place I plan on visiting if I ever get to travel back that way. It's been years since I've been to either of the Carolinas...
Sounds like you had a good time!
