What a Dilema
Just ordered Kilt number 2, not a problem in its self. Bt problem is the forth comming trip down under, what kilt do take? The choice is between my trusty "Spirit of West lothian" or the new "Saltire ".
Sporan isnt a problem as it has to be the saltire Sporan . Hose Flashes will be dependent on the kilt. Would like to take both but with a 20kg weight limit on the flight have to limit it to one. Although I am cosidering wearing the kilt for the flight from London to Sydney (with a 1 night stopover in Singapore) burt concerned that it might be a bit restrictive on a 13 hour flight.
Anyone any views.

You're worried about a kilt being more restrictive on a flight than pants?

Fly kilted all the time...no more comfy way to fly. You'll love it and so will the staff. Security is very used to kilted men. Not an issue. Just don't wear a long pin type kilt pin. Use one of the stubby pin kilt pins if you have one - or none at all.
And I take the stubby pin kilt pin off to go through security. Replace it on the plane.
I wear a travel vest instead of a sporran too. Just in case security considers the sporran a type of carry-on bag.
I agree. Wear the most comfortable kilt. Pack the other one. Same thing flying home.
You'll love the FREEDOM!

I agree, wear the kilt to travel. I also have flown to California kilted, far more comfortable than trousers, but be sure to avoid wearing tight garters.
