An eight yard, knife pleated kilt made of 16 oz.(or heavier) wool tartan.

Welcome to the "ignorant" club!! We are all ignorant when compared to someone else of more knowledge or experience.

Great question, actually. I am still somewhat of a noobie myself, so I am sure others will correct me if necessary.

A "Tank" generally refers to a full 8 yard kilt. I believe it also means a "traditional" kilt. Of course, a "full 8 yards" could actually be a little more or less depending upon the size of the wearer.

I have never seen an 8 yard kilt offered that did NOT include a requirement for specific measurements too. Meaning, it is a fully customized kilt made specifically to the wearers measurements using "a full 8 yards" of material.

Just wondering, Steve: how would you categorise Rabbi Pazo’s 14-metre kilt?
Would you call it a tank, or would you need a “heavier” description for it?
    Regards,
    Mike

Jock, here I am sitting at work, trying not to laugh out loud while I think of Rabbi Pazo’s kilt having something in common with the German tank in Kelly’s Heroes.
