What's The Largest Gathering Of People You've Worn Your Kilt To?

For me, would be the Gathering of Nations Pow-Wow's in Albuquerque. Imagine many have been kilted to sporting events...

Where have you kilted amidst a huge assembly of humans?

    The Gathering I guess!
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

Well the Texas Ren Fest has 25 to 30 thousand people at it per day on good days. Although the kilt does not really 'stick out' at TRF!

I've been to 3 or 4 political events lately that had a couple hundred to as many as 6000 folks, and only saw another kilt one time. My American Heritage kilt and I are generally well recieved at these events.

I was "that Kilt guy" on a cruise ship with about 2500 people. And I've been to various concert venues around here, 500 to 15,000 folks depending on the hall.

Might have been the sold-out performance of Spamalot at the Proctor and Gamble hall of the Aronoff Center for the arts, which seats around 2,700 people, but then again, I tend to find myself in crowds often, and it's a good chance that I'll be in a kilt. I sort of lose track of things like that.

At a sold out TFC Game, I'd think, it can seat up to 20,500 people.

    The Gathering 2009: Edinburgh Scotland

Like Paul; The Gathering. I read there were 40,000 there on the Saturday and 8,000 in the Parade. Of course most were kilted or with tartan accessories.

The Iowa State Fair. Normally about 100,000 per day for it's ten day run. I only went one day kilted this year (in one of my Matt Newsome box pleated kilts). I saw no other kilties this time, which has not been the case the last two years. On the up-side, I had no negativity from anyone this year, and the kilt opened the door for several interesting conversations. A good long day at the fair with my family enjoying the food and the spectacle of it all.

I've played music kilted in front of several thousand people a couple of times. Saturday the band played at a local music festival with maybe 1000 attendees throughout the day and I was the only person kilted. It was a UK kind of day so I was wearing my black survival and our band's newest t-shirt. Got LOTS of compliments (we had a booth to sell the band's swag so I was front and center all day). And, of course, we ROCKED our set! FUN!!
