Last night I was in Auburn, IN and ate at this place:

Auburn is about 35 minutes from me and I am there a few times a month
as a volunteer at the Auburn Cord Duesenburg Automotive Museum. I
also get to Auburn at other times. It is a great old small town.

Well, I wore a kilt last night and I have been there before when
wearing a kilt. In the past when I have been at Mad Anthony it was
always a Friday night and last night was the first time I had been
there on a Saturday night. My waitress started to talk to be about
wearing a kilt. Next she told be that there a man in Auburn who is
fairly regular customer. I gave the waitress my business card and she
said that she would be sure to give my card to this other kilt wearer
the next time she was him.

Wow, maybe I will actually get to meet another kilt wearer.

I want to get up to the museum one of these days. I guess I just need to schedule a day and do it. I think I can make it a day trip. I estimate about 3 1/2 hours to get up there.

I was told by one car collector (I know this man and he has top shelf Packard, Pierce Arrow, ....the list goes on) that he has been to every car museum in the USA and the one in Auburn tops them all. It is a great museum. For a comprehensive 'soak up' of all that it there (history and cars) you would need 3-4 hours. I work as a gallery host and I am training to be a docent. I could give you a tour.

Since I have been off from work for the better part of two weeks I have been spending a lot of time as a volunteer at the Auburn Cord Duesenburg Automotive Museum. There is a dress code for when I am working as a gallery host or a docent (I really enjoy giving tours). This week I have also been painting. So every day I go I take clothes for painting, docent/gallery host, and other. The other is always a kilt. What I find interesting is that although I do not have a name tag and I do not work there many hours the other volunteers and staff are REMEMBER me because I am there in a kilt at times. Out side of wearing a name tag for guests when I am giving tours I don't think that I am going to need one for the staff and other volunteers to know me.

I would like to wear a kilt while painting, however, I am painting doors and door frames. I think that the likelihood of getting paint on the back side while wearing a kilt would be pretty great and I would rather avoid the risk.

I wouldn't paint in any of my nice wool kilts that I prefer to wear "out and about".

One of the best things about them, is that people DO remember you when you wear a kilt.
