    Who makes buckle brogues??

I'm looking for a maker to have a pair made for myself. I see a few sellers, but the problem is that I wear a size 14 shoe (13.5 UK). None of the vendors sell this size. Any leads anyone??

If you find a vendor who makes good quality leather brogues in 13s you can probably take them to a shoe repair shop and have them specifically stretched to your particular fit. I have done this with golf shoes and a few other pairs when 13 was just not quite big enough in one way or another.

I can't personally vouch for either of these, but I had 'em bookmarked because they're on my wish list as well:

http://www.tartanweb.com/shop/highla...t-leather.html (albeit not in your size)

http://www.scotweb.co.uk/sr_strut_1239 (these look very nice!) - they seem to be listed only in UK sizes 13 and 14, though, not 13.5. Surely one or the other size would work?

I've noticed that the maker of these shoes is called "Thistle Shoes", but I can not locate any trace of a manufacturing site or their own store. Any leads on this?

Is "Thistle Shoes" a "doing business as" name of A. E. Struthers of Glenrothes in Fife, Scotland?

Maybe some of the retailers here can give us a hand? It would be a shame if only one company in the whole world made these shoes...

    I understand your frustration. I wear a 15D.

    My thoughts, exactly.

Thanks for remembering me. Size 14 is no problem although I would definately have to order a special last.

I would caution...and I know this flies in the face of "common wisdom", sorry...it is neither wise nor nor effective to try to stretch a size 13 to a size 14. Higher quality shoes simply will not stretch lengthwise and shoes that do will be so distorted and altered that the life of the shoe will be cut outrageously short.
