Why is it that soldiers are under represented?

Yet, the jarheads tartan is everywhere. As an army vet I can not fathom this. I can only ascribe it to the gyrene tendency to hyperbole and parading around like so many peacocks.

Seriously though, the leatherneck tartan is sharp and were I so unfortunate to have worked for the navy I would wear it with pride. If I can even find the army tartan I shall have to do my part in rectifying such grave injustice.

Especially since almost half (49%) of military veterans on Xmarks are Army! http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...o-serve-71214/

Precisely. And without getting too much into the age-old and time-honoured friendly rivalry between the U.S. Marine Corps and all of the other branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, as well as the back and forth discussion in regards to how 'us' Marines are in my opinion, a different and highly unique breed, I tend to believe that the U.S. Army tartan is represented rather well by many Soldiers and ex-Soldiers on the forum. I just think the Marines (never referred to as an ex-Marine) on the forum may be a wee bit more 'vocal' than our Army counterparts. Am I incorrect in saying so?

Parading around like peacocks? Absolutely! Hyperbole!? Everyone knows that Marines are a shy and retiring bunch. Besides, all those war stories are true! I was there!

For those of you who are not veterans, here is the difference between a war story and a fairy tale. A fairy tale starts "Once upon a time". A war story starts "This is no BS, once when I was at..." And that's the only difference.

Just remember, as one of my favorite Irish pub singers would say:

"How do you spell Marine? Muscles Are Required Intelligence Not Essential"

Hahaha! Me too, actually. I did cold weather training with several Royal Marines, as well as a unit from the Norwegian Army, in Trondheim, Norway. What a grand way to ski and shoot various weaponry... good times!
