Mudd, glad everything went well! As I, and others have found out, most of the concerns are more in our heads than in the actual wearing of the kilt Congratualtions and welcome to the kilted work force!

I'm glad your day at work kilted went well. It sounds like you could were a kilt to work any day that you wanted to without any problems. It just goes to show you that wearing a kilt in public, wether at work or elsewhere, is for the most part a non-event. Yes, people will stare, some will pay you compliments, but that is about it. In my opinion, the comfort of wearing a kilt at work (when it is not a safety issue) can actually increase productivity.

You can bet that if there were statistically sound data available that showed that men who wore kilts to work were more productive, management would be recommending kilts for all their male employees. You might even see where they would have a clothing allowance as a benefit for those men that opted to wear kilts. This would be a great topic for a Master's thesis or a Phd dissertation.
