    Wow! A kilt sighting !

My wife and I went to a rib-burn off on Fri. I had on the Hunting Mcleod. Had a fantastic rack of ribs, when in the distance I see a man in a kilt. Didn't get the chance to meet him nor tell the tartan. Don't get me wrong, I've seen plenty of kilties, but always at a games or ren fair, or celtic rock event, but
NEVER just out in public like myself. It warms the heart lads!
So, have you seen any kilts lately?

Yesterday afternoon, in fact, at our local fall fair. My wife and I worked a volunteer shift at a MADD information kiosk (mother against drunk driving). Afterwards, we wandered around the fair grounds and passed a kilted man. As we approached, I realized that he had been part of a pipe band playing at the grandstand earlier. I'm not so sure that counts but was heartened by the fact that he didn't strip right out after his performance - as so often is the case. I, of course, was decked out in my XMarks / Tewksbury kilt with t-shirt and boots.

No non-tartan kilts in sight though.

    seeing other kilts

The only man in a kilt I see is myself in the mirror..
If it is not a special occasion the kilts (if there are any) around the NW corner of oregon are safely locked away in a closet or strong box for safe keeping.
Only to be brought out on specil occasion or to show to a friend as a bragging point" Looky I got a kilt"
There is a thead going as to whether a kilt will become a widely worn garmet. I personlly hope not.. I like NOT looking like every other joe blow on the street.

The last time I saw another person in a kilt was about a month ago. I was outside with Winston (the newest family addition, a Shih Tzu) waiting for him to poop. In the distance I hear bagpipes. The sound get's closer and I realize it's not just ANY bagpipes, it's "The Wicked Tinkers." Within moments a famliar red Celica whips into my parking lot. Out hops my cousin Billy (red2drcelica) in his brand new Ireland's National casual from USAK.

Other than us, I've not seen another kilt in town. Special occasion or no.

Last time I saw another kilted guy was at a local historical site Ft Vancouver during their annual "Brigade encampment" back in June.
I wasn't kilted, but still walk up to the guy and ask him if he's a piper and proceed with a friendly chat......I mention X-marks and it turns out he's Bikercelt!

There was a whole pack of kilties (men and wimmin) at the Black 47 / Sligo Rags show last night in Hollyweird, more Irish Nationals than you could shake a stick at (though ya might get pummeled in that kind of crowd)

    Hey Kleaveland:

I'm in NE Ohio as well ... I wear my kilt to church every Sunday morning! So far, I haven't seen anybody just out and about in the kilt. Unfortunate!!!

Well, like many others I have never ran into anyone other than a mirror, that I knew other than at kilt related events, or a friend of mine. To run into someone other than myself at a "regular" time is a VERY rare occasion. I know of Prestor John and a few others in the area, could this be YOU?

haha I was kilted today at the Louisville Lift Off Day festivities, with my father in law and two sons (Piper Joe played at the festival - he's a 12 yr old wonder), but I haven't been anywhere near Cleveland this weekend.

We all wear the Robertson Red, incidentally.
