X kilt help from the rabble

Good morning all! I need a bit o' help here. Just got done sewing in the tapers on the fell, wrapped my almost done X kilt around me and I an confused about the length of the under apron pleat (as shown in appx. 1 of the X kilt instructions on the right side). Did I miss something in a big way and not pleat it correctly? If anyone could offer some advice or perhaps another thread I would be greatly thankful. Did a search of threads but I guess I didn't use the right search criteria. Any help/advice is most welcome! Thanks again!

On mine I make the pleat deep enough to completely cover the inside of the last box pleat and about half of the next one...about 5 inches. Provides plenty of freedom of movement.
