    Xmarks Kilt

I just made my final payment on my Xmarks kilt from Kathy Lare. She always waits to make the final billing when the kilt is done, so that means mine will soon be on it's way.

I had enough extra cloth left over that she made up a fly plaid for me. I probably won't use the fly plaid much, but I'll have it when I want it. Also, it will make a nice wrap for any lady companion.

    Let the shipping Jonesing begin!!!

I, too, have an Xmark kilt in transit. But so far I've not been experiencing any anxiety at all. That may change if I haven't received notification from the post office within the next ten days or so.

As for fly plaids... I've never had occasion to wear one. Probably never will.

An ebay seller is hawking a worsted wool fly plaid in Holyrood for a measley $18.00. I've not bought it, because what the heck would I do with it? I mean, my Holyrood is a 5-yarder.

Then again, it would make a dandy wrap for my lady, unstitched,

No No No. No more tartan implements for the woman who won't wear tartan for any reasons, whatsoever. *sigh*

My pending order with Matt includes the following:

    1. XMarks kilt in 5 yard knife pleat ever so custom Matt Newsome original
    2. XMarks Flashes for the yet to be determined best color hose.
    3. XMarks Fly Plaid that I may only wear once a year. It's for my wedding and I suspect that may turn into a tradition each anniversary.
    4. Xtra cloth that my step-daughter will be turning into a vest for her Dad ( my Partner) to go with his tux for our wedding.

I see some good use out of this.

The kilt was waiting for me when I got home this evening. This seems to be a really well made kilt and fits nice. The only problem is I'm leaving on a business trip tomorrow and I won't be able to wear it for a week. And no, I'm not taking it with me. I still have to get appropriate accessories.

Hamish is right, the background is an odd shade of blue that doesn't really match anything. I see what everyone is talking about with the blue bleeding into the white on the one stripe. But, if I didn't know what to look for, I probably wouldn't have noticed it.

Is an Xmark kilt a wool kilt with the blue tartan used as the background? It must be beautiful!!! Where did you get that made?
