Ya missed it! The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards...
and the Band of the Coldstream Guards performed today at the Kimmel Center in Philly today. In addition to playing nearly flawless military marching music (a treat after hearing numerous so-so bands in parades), they did the sword dance and various Highland Flings. Of course I went kilted, and found that I was one of maybe two or three in a crowd of hundreds who wore a kilt (aside from the performers present). The ladies of course loved it, a few guys stared, and one of the performers gave me a nice salute. Would have been a nice X-Marks get together if I had known in advance (spotted it last night in the paper). I also made a few contacts that might lead to a list of upcoming Philly Burns nights. Stay tuned.

The Royal Dragoons will be in Houston on Tuesday, February 19th. I have tickets and can hardly wait. There are about 40 of us from the Houston Highland Games Association and other kilted miscreants to attend.

Haven't missed it yet - January 24th in Buffalo. I bought my ticket yesterday.
I am easily moved for sympathy for dogs, far more so than for humans, because dogs do not understand. There is no way to explain that you will return, that the vet will make it all better, that they cannot go shooting today because that is not what today is about. They cannot work out that their misery is finite and will some time end, and so their misery is magnified.

The Royal Scot Dragoon Guard will be in Palm Desert on Feb. 25 at the McCallum Theater. I've got my ticket and my kilt outfit at the ready. The Scottish Society of the Desert will be there in full force, so I expect to see lots of kilted gentlemen. I'm looking forward to a great show.
Cheers!
