    Yesterday was almost the day...

.... that I broke down and donned trousers! Luckily for me my stubborn nature over-rode the fact that Edmonton was the coldest place on the continent and made me still go out and about kilted. I must admit to a bit of chilliness, well okay downright frozen knees but still old man winter won't drive this lad out of the plaid!

    Cheers

Bah, I find the the kilt is warmer than any pants, other than a slight chill in the knees between the hose and the hem of the kilt

you were brave as Edmonton was the coldest place on earth for brief moment. I would have stayed home and not go anywhere.

The temperature was -46.1 C, or -58.4 with wind chill

Um, with those temperatures, I believe "I would have stayed home and not go anywhere" sums up my feelings on the matter as well.

I don't know how you poor souls survive in that kind of cold. I start shivering when the temperature drops below 50 degrees F.

My problem is shoes: I get chilblains and so need to wear really warm shoes or boots (and thermal socks) when it gets this cold - it's just -25C at the moment, but it was notably colder when I left the house this morning! The only appropriate footwear I have looks pretty hideous with a kilt. Any suggestions?

Just two formerly broken toes are ever affected, but it's difficult to calm down chilblains once they start; soon I can barely walk.

I am fond of my mukluks, but they don't look all that great with the kilt, I will admit.

It's only -19C here, I guess I should feel good about it, eh ?

Good stuff, man! You know that when we were moving from Edmonton to Japan 7 yrs ago, Moving Day was -40 with windchill. That was the most brutal move I've ever done! Can't imagine having done that one kilted...
