You really can't buy just one, can you...

I ordered my first "tank" in mid July, and am expecting it in mid September. I thought I could make it.

    I couldn't.

I just ordered a SWK Blackwatch standard to "feed the jones."

What are these, kilts or potato chips?

They are addictive. I've got three underway that I'm sewing now. You know you've got it bad when you are just sewing on belt loops as the sun is coming up. O'Neille
Cowards die many times before their deaths; the valiant never taste of death but once. Of all the wonders I yet have heard, it seems to me most strange that men should fear; seeing that death, a necessary end, will come when it will come. --William Shakespeare, Julius Caesar

Addictive is too mild a word. It makes you wonder, how many does it take to be considerd a kilt addict?
Armageddon was yesterday. Today we have real problem.

Yeah, I thought you guys were all crazy when I ordered my first kilt and you said no one can have just one.

I really thought you WERE getting them mixed up with potato chips.

It is Friday evening and my kilted weekend is almost ready to begin....the kilt awaits in the back seat of my car out in the parking garage.

    only one...

I guess I'm the exception to the rule, but I only have one kilt at present, and the most I have ever owned at one time is two kilts. For me, it's about quality, not quanity, and that's not a "slam" against anyone -- I have one kilt in the family tartan, and that's good enough for me. I hope to order one of Matt's kilts soon, but apart from that, I really don't need that many kilts.

Besides, I tend to follow my Scottish grandmother's definition of being frugal: "You may only own one thing, but it the BEST that one can own, so you don't have to keep replacing it!"

Again, I'm not trying to "slam" anyone -- just wanted to show that there are those of us who are content with one kilt.

    Regards,

    Todd

If you're going to wear kilts for more than special occasions, then having a choice is a reasonable and logical thing and not gluttony.

There are also those, like Hamish, that are inveterate collectors... and while this may seem like excess to some, is a natural and reasonable pursuit.

I currently own seven fully traditional kilts (not including an swk which I plan on dumping) and am now thinking about possibly 2 more over and above the R-Kilt I have on order. No potato chips.

I don't own just one pair of trousers... so I believe it's a reasonable and logical extension of that thinking to own more than one kilt. What's reasonable is a personal decision.

Potato chips or no... each to their own.

It does not matter if you have 1 kilt or 66 but if when you wear them, you get that certain kick out of it, your hooked

Of course, Blu -- I fully agree with what you say. And I would never say such a thing that Hamish's "Kollection" is excess -- on the contrary.

My message was a personal observation to show that there are some on this board who only own one kilt, and are comfortable with that. I'm sorry you took it the wrong way, my apologies.
