At the zoo
As I was walking around our local zoo yesterday a gentleman came up to me with his hand extended, I took it immediately of course. He said, “You, my friend, are my hero.” I asked, “Why is that sir?” He responded, “Because you have the courage to wear the proper dress of our people right out in public and wear it proudly.”
We spoke a little of Celtic heritage then discussed prices of kilts. He was surprised to hear that you did not necessarily have to spend US$800.00 to buy one. I gave his some web sites to Xmarks sponsors. We shook hands again & I was off to see the polar bears.

That is great! Did you get any contact info from him so you can get him involved in a kilt night?

That is great to hear.
When I saw 'zoo' in the title I was not sure where this was going.

No I did not but there is a reason. As you know my wife totally despises the entire concept of men in kilts. Anytime someone stops me to talk about kilts or heritage she wanders on as if I am not there and on occasion it has taken my quite awhile to find her.
However this time I could have spoken to him longer. When he & I were done talking I looked to see if I could still see my wife in the crowd. I could not. “Great!” I am thinking. “Where the is she?” She was right beside me on my blind side (literally… I have no right eye) She had not left me the entire time.
I’ll may say something more about this under Off Topic.

Very cool, I hope he stops by.

Now see, when I was married if my wife had wandered off I would have taken that as an opportunity to run like (heck) and escape.
