A Week Kilted on the Las Vegas, Nevada "Strip"

My lady was in town for a convention and invited me along.
A most interesting week. Will post pics on that forum.
No negative comments, ALL positive comments. Mostly from women, but a few from men.
A couple at the M&Ms store...she made a point of coming over and saying that her boyfriend, who seemed young and shy, owned two kilts.
A drunk at Nine Fine Irish Gentlemen, "Alright!! A Kilt!"
A drunk at New York New York insisted on a handshake, he had a British accent but was too struck by the kilt and too in his cups to speak well...he just wanted a sweaty handshake.
A woman walking with her husband, stopped cold and said, "I love your kilt."
A young lady punked out with tattoos and knee sox stopped to compliment my kilt.
The host at Rainforest Cafe in MGM Grand went into a long story about how he used to work downtown at Fitzgerald's and how they hosted many kilted bands.
When wearing my Ireland's National semi traditional from USA Kilts a guy stopped me to ask if I were Irish, in the sense of you're wearing the colors are you Irish too?
A lady from Scotland stopped me to compliment me on the kilt and inquire if I were from "home."
A drunk guy on a moving sidewalk going past me in the opposite direction hollared out asking what was under my kilt.
In New York, New York ran into another guy in full kilt who stopped to shake my hand but was in a big hurry to get somewhere and couldn't stay to chat.
At the conference dance and dinner in the food line a guy comes up to me and says, "All this food and no single malt."
At the same dinner a guy comes over and asks to take a picture of me with his wife ( a very lovely lady) she asks if I'll hike my kilt up while she hikes her dress up...what the heck...
At the Tilted Kilt in the Rio, "Welcome Home!" from the hostess and the lady in the shop asked if I was wearing my kilt "properly."
Waitress at the Tilted Kilt in Rio pointed out that my kilt was much longer than hers. I smiled and said, "It needs to be." and let it go at that...she got it.
There were many more "Love your kilt" type compliments and thumbs up, including from the "King" welcoming folks at the Excalibur.
We had a chance to check out The Tilted Kilt at Spring Valley and Decator. Was like a dull, slow neighborhood bar...
The Tilted Kilt in the Rio was different...very loud though...conversation near impossible. The "kilts" the waitresses wear have pleats on each side but the back and the front are solid.
Best Celtic venue was the Nine Fine Irish Gentlemen pub in New York, New York. Quiet, great theme decorations, booze for them that drinks, and very very tasty food. Had two excellent meals there.
Didn't get downtown to check out Fitzgerald's and Limerick's Steak House.
Thought we had some Las Vegas locals on the board....they must know best.
As chaotic and crammed full of people as the Las Vegas strip is I don't see how we'd ever find each other if we do go ahead with the rendezvous next spring....unless we booked rooms at the same hotel...even then...chaotic...people everywhere.
I had a great time...away from work...a needed vacation.
