Ern:
I did not see this thread, somehow missed it until this morning, but in all seriousness on of your earlier threads pushed me to making Fridays kilted at work.My boss is more kilt tolerant than kilt adverse, but I try not to push my luck. So for special days I wear the kilt and he is OK with it. My work schedule is longer hours Monday through Thursday and close at 12:30 on Friday. So I started wearing kilts on Friday sans permission. (better to ask forgiveness than permission) At first it was a little luke warm on the reception, now it is just an accepted thing by staff, vendors etc. I would almost bet that someone would say something if I wasn't kilted. I work in a lab and receive raw materials and cosmetic samples so generally the good tartans stay at home and my RKilts, AltKilts and PV kilts are my Friday norm.
Thanks for the inspiration!
Re: Kilted Fridays Adventures
Brilliant story, well done Ern!
Cheers,
Re: Kilted Fridays Adventures
Kilted Fridays eh...seems like I might have to start a new tradition.

Hey Joe,
How I can relate to this! Thanks for sharing. Hey that’s what this Forum is about encouraging one another in our kilted life! :D

It will give you a whole new perspective on TGIF! [Thank goodness it’s Friday]
Here’s an open invitation to all to post your Kilted Friday Adventure here! :kd:
Re: Kilted Fridays Adventures
Hm, touchy ground here.
I've started wearing the kilt on Friday's at work (Friday is 'casual day' here). Everyone has come to expect that when they ask "Why the kilt?" that I'll simply reply "It's Friday."
I also have a membership at a "store" across the street so I walk over and play with 'forbidden to mention here' toys at lunch every Friday. That's the 'adventure' part of my Fridays. :p
(not toys, of course, used that with 'artistic license' in mind. Safety first.)
Combine all the good stuff! :D
added pic from today, coworker took with phone so a bit fuzzy, sorry.

Good on ya, Ern! Awesome pic and love the inspiration. Maybe I will start doing that on our casual fridays and spice up the DOJ a bit.
Re: Kilted Fridays Adventures
Nice one Ern! Well played.
Re: Kilted Fridays Adventures
Well excuse the craniotomy ……it was the best pic of the kit. For today’s adventure I donned my USAK semi in Stewart, black, Artificer sporran and kilt belt, and recently acquired pair of Matt’s discontinued Tain HOC hose.

I had a couple of meetings with contractors to review their proposals on re-plastering our pool and spa. One the contractors was a Campbell. This fellow has done work with me in the past so is ‘comfortable' with me. I listened as he told me about kilts, tartans and the Campbells. Most of it was inaccurate, but sometimes you realize your job is just to listen and not correct.
Later in the morning, a hearing specialist who was conducting a hearing clinic came to the office to photocopy forms. She was wowed with the kilt. Leaving the office, she said, “I love kilts…. thanks for the copies, sweetie” (an endearment for an old guy). So much for that first blush of excitement.
Anyway, the Fred Red Ale at Park Lane tasted good after a busy day.
Re: Kilted Fridays Adventures
I've been doing Casual (Kilt for me) Fridays in my office for a while. The others usually wear nice jeans. Once in awhile on a non-Friday, I'll get the, "Hey, it's not Friday."

Nice way to end the week, eh?
