    Goin' to the Ceilidh
    Hello all!
One of our own, KiltedSurveyor, has organised a monthly ceilidh to be held in Dickson, TN every third Tuesday of the month! Last month was our first one and it was a blast! We start out with a 'slow session' to let everyone get the hang of the music then bring things up to full speed and do our best to keep up with each other! So if you play, sing, dance or just want to enjoy a night of fun, please come to Dickson and join in! It's held and The Bear's Den Cigar Shop in Dickson, TN. That's 108 W College St., Dickson, TN 37055! Hope to see you all there!! :toast: :funmeter2: :piper:

Wow, sounds so cool! :D What are you doing for music, a band or cd? What arrangements have you made with the establishment?

We are playing the music on guitars, violins, mandolins, bodhrans, etc... Sounded great! Kind of one of those whoever shows up with an instrument kind of things...

As far as arrangements, I'm not sure what you mean... The proprietor of the cigar shop is a new kiltie and certainly doesn't mind us bringing in patrons! :) He and KiltedSurveyor are good friends and therefore, I think it was a no-brainer to have it there...

I'll bet they have some grand ceilidhs in and around the Big Apple!! Congrats on your 1500 posts, by the way! :)

    Dickson Ceilidh!
Anybody around the Dickson area is welcome to attend. The next one will be this coming Tuesday, June 16, starting at 5:00 p.m. You don't have to play well, or at all. Come if you enjoy music. We're just starting up and I have never been in charge of the proceedings, so bring patience with you. We're hoping to grow this thing, We can stop and teach tunes, and you can teach us tunes. The venue is a cigar shop, so if you wish you can have a cigar and listen, maybe even a dram (you'll have to bring it.... echoes of grade school teachers every where.... "Do you have enough for the whole class?(or at least enough for just the leader?....). If you need directions, pm me and I'll get you there. Come kilted! I would love to see some of the Mid TN kilties there.

This sounds excellent! Looking to start playing pipes/whistle and this would be a great way to hear some new tunes. Plus a good time for gathering! May have to drive down from K-ville to check it out.
