I have been researching the historic weaving of plaids in preparation of dressing my loom and trying my hand at a Henderson (my wife's ancestry) tartan. Your other papers have been a real help in my search. This paper has answered many of my questions. Thank you, you have contributed so much and it is appreciated.

That's interesting but I wonder why as there is now double width cloth. Unless of course you want to go down the reenactment route but the problem is that modern cloth is wrong as you won't get traditional offset pattern with or without a selvedge mark/pattern.
