The Quaich visits Ottawa and the Valley
The quaich has arrived in eastern Ontario and it is time to put out an invitation to X-Marks members in the Ottawa area for a get-together. If any of you has any ideas of where and when, I am open to any suggestions. :) I was thinking of taking the quaich up to Parliament hill on Canada Day for a photo op but there could be a less hectic place for a meeting and another day that might suit.

Also I would like to know the next person on the list to host the quaich so I can prepare to send it onwards. If there are not already firm plans for for the next visit, I would suggest that one of our members in the Maxville, Ontario/Seaway Valley area host the quaich. I'm sure there might be a few X-Marks members to be found there at the Glengarry Highland Games/North American Pipe Band Championships.

As a suggestion for a location, Deacon Brodie's Pub just opened on Elgin Street. Kilted waitstaff and overtly Scottish decor and menu.

    Shane,
Thanks for the heads up. Might be a nice opportunity to try someplace new. There is also The Highlander Pub in The Market. I've never been there tho. There is also The Glen Scottish Restaurant and Pub (run by real Scots! lol) but it's a bit out of the way in Stittsville.

I popped in the Highlander to take a look a couple weeks ago. I was thinking they need someone to bring a little colour to them. I don't know the other places. I will just go along with what the actual Ottawa residents decide.
