infant kilt
Im trying to make an infant kilt for my nephew. Whats the best way to allow for growth? Can anyone help me? Thank you in advance.:)

Use Velcro instead of straps. I made one for my niece and it has been able to grow with her.
Good luck and have fun!!

Put deep pleats under the aprons, which can be let out for growth. Use a hem instead of selvedge edge, so that can be let down.

I would just buy one from SK they are pretty cheap and the velcro will let you adjust as needed for growth

thanks for all your help and support. Now i need to go get some velcro and time. ha!

:welcome: from Boston, Massachusetts
I made two years ago for a grandson, who grew like a weed. I had made two extra deep pleats under both aprons. And had hemmed about eight inches of material for future growth. He got it when he was five, and it grow with him til ten, then ran out of hem to let down. Now he is on kilts three and four. And still growing........
