I didn't see anything posted, but thought something should be said.
Anthony J. Bryant (who posted here as AJBryant) died in hospital December 25.
I didn't know him personally, but gained great...

I'm curious if this fabric a friend has is an actual tartan. The colours would make me think it isn't (he calls it the Darkwing tartan, as it uses the same colours as Darkwing Duck). Any ideas?

Mortlach 16 is my go-to currently, but I'm trying to make it last. I love Lagavulin, but can't afford it, and I'll echo the above comments about Isle of Jura Superstition. Great, smooth stuff.

Did you get a chance to go inside St.Paul's? We didn't get to do a full tour because of services in progress, but what I saw of it was absolutely awe-inspiring.

I've been twice, but likely won't be able to go again until my kid is old enough to go to Camp Grandma. Have fun!

Excellent pics. I took a picture of my wife with the Famous Five and she uses it when she talks about the Persons Case with her Canadian history classes.

I'm not even going to check to the end of the thread to see who resurrected it, I just have to agree about the wonderfulness of Merridale. Much better than the extra sweet ciders prevalent in BC, and...

To both of you who asked, I'd definitely recommend renting a car. The distances we drive regularly in North America make getting around in Scotland seem like a breeze, except that there are fewer big...

I think you need to Paypal some money to someone in Scotland. The Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages can look into this stuff for £7/15 minutes rather than the per query fee at Scotland's...

What skill level does one need to be in order to make use of this book? Is it intended for people with madd sewing skillz, or is it assumed that if you can follow step-by-step directions you'll end...

Sending good vibes. Kick it's ***, Turpin.

My wife has subbed rice flour into her shortbread recipe occasionally, and you have to tweak the recipe a bit, but it was still definitely shortbread and definitely edible.

Sounds like you have a "Classic Malts of Scotland" sampler. I haven't tried all of those, but Oban is like sipping smoky honey, and Lagavulin, though an acquired taste, is incredible. I could just...

Depicting historical or religious figures in contemporary clothing was definitely a thing. This article, though discussing religious pedagogy, is a pretty good example of why.

I've had earrings in both ears for most of the last 25 years. What guys wear in their ears is pretty much a non-issue these days.

Hello,
As it's now been a year since the contest results were announced I was wondering if we could get an update/progress report on the status of the model contest kilts? Thanks!

In view of the recent discussion about regimental ties, I'm curious if you plan to wear the Royal Regiment of Scotland buckle, a piece of currently issued kit.
Regardless, the gear is certainly...

I'm interested. Not quite up to saying I'm in, but I'm interested.

Excellent news. I don't even know the dude apart from posts, but anyone with his skill at facial hair needs to stick around and share the glory. :)

I didn't spend a ton of time in a kilt this year, but two that are definitely highlights:

It's a bit of a trek from downtown, but if you make it out to the Mountain Shadow Inn I could probably stop by. Not expecting it, but just in case. :)
